BMTPC, established in 1990 as an interministerial body, strives to promote innovative, cost-effective building materials and products through evaluation , validation of proven technologies, demonstration and large scale dissemination of information. The Council maintains a continuing interaction with R&D, standardisation institutions, industry, concerned associations/ federations, industrial promotional agencies, financial institutions, construction organisations of public and private sectors and

AN INTRODUCTION TO THE VULNERABILITY ATLUS OF INDIA

With its vast territory, large population and unique geo-climatic conditions, Indian sub-continent is exposed to natural catastrophes traditionally. Even today the natural hazards like floods, . BAMBOO A MATERIAL FOR COST EFFECTIVE AND DISASTER RESISTANT HOUSING

Wood has been used for centuries as a common material in construction of buildings and other structures. Similarly, bamboo has also a long and well established tradition for being used as a construction material throughout the tropical and sub-tropical regions of the world. COMMERCIALIZATION OF INNOVATIVE BUILDING MATERIAL TECHNOLOGIES 

Building Materials & Technology Promotion Council (BMTPC) was set up in 1990 under the aegis of the erstwhile Ministry of Urban Development, to bring together scientific research, technological advancements and enterprise. The Council undertakes functions such as scaling of technologies from pilot to commercial stage, entrepreneural development, facilitating venture/risk capital support to new industrial units, absorption and indigenisation of imported technologies, preparation of location specific feasibility reports, ensuring market support through building materials estates and adoption by public and private agencies
