Dear Colleagues, Stakeholders, and Partners in Progress,

It is with great privilege and a deep sense of responsibility that I, Shri Arvind Kumar, have assumed the additional charge of Executive Director, Building Materials & Technology Promotion Council (BMTPC) an apex organization under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, established in 1990, effective from 15 December 2025.

I am grateful to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and the Hon'ble Minister for entrusting me with this responsibility.

BMTPC remains committed to promoting sustainable, cost-effective, energy-efficient, and disaster-resistant building materials and technologies. Our flagship initiatives—such as GHTC-India with its Light House Projects (LHPs) serving as live laboratories for innovative, speedy, and green construction; the Performance Appraisal Certification Scheme (PACS) for evaluating and certifying emerging technologies; demonstration housing projects showcasing proven alternate systems across diverse regions; NAVARITIH, LIVE LABS, PRiTHVi, and the Vulnerability Atlas of India guiding disaster-resistant planning and construction—continue to support national priorities like 'Housing for All' under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), alongside advancing green construction, waste management, and skill development.

I look forward to building on BMTPC's strong foundation by accelerating technology adoption, strengthening collaborations with states, industry, and institutions, and promoting climate-resilient practices for affordable and safe housing.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to my predecessors for their visionary leadership and to the dedicated team at BMTPC for their unwavering commitment. I also look forward to the continued support and active participation of all stakeholders—government agencies, builders, technologists, academia, and the construction fraternity—in our shared mission to build a resilient and sustainable built environment for India.

With warm regards,

Arvind Kumar
